MORE DETAILS

In these challenging times, meditation and sacred sound are so helpful. All are welcome!

I am deeply honored to be invited by Terry Pierce into the sanctuary of St. James' Episcopal Church, Taylor, Texas to lead and guide a weekly Buddhist shamatha (calm abiding) meditation and offer sacred sound and sacred chants.

My intention is to offer an experience rather than a teaching. For a majority of the time, we will be abiding in silence. However, an open discussion afterwards is welcome for those who wish to stay a little longer.

Bring a cushion and folded blanket to sit on the floor. Pews are also available.

Please feel free to share with anyone you feel would be interested.

**

Although this is a practice that has sprung from the Buddhist tradition, this meditation can be practice by all belief systems. For these sessions, I will hold the meditations very openly, but for anyone who is interested in delving deeper into the Buddhist teachings, I have a great many teachers and resources to refer you to.

Please feel free to DM me if you have questions

In gratitude to all my teachers. May all being!

PS. For those interested in Health & Wellness, there has been a scientific study of the effects of Shamatha. The “Shamatha Project” found that intensive meditation significantly improves sustained attention, emotional regulation, psychological well-being, and immune cell telomerase activity (linked to longevity), with gains partially lasting for years. It demonstrated reduced stress, increased compassion, and a greater sense of purpose, linking mental training to physical health.

Suggested donation $1 - $20. No one turned away for lack of funds

All faiths, beliefs/non-beliefs, and gender orientation are welcome
